Hi y'all...just curious....in your family...who is in charge of bill paying, budgeting, etc...and do you split bills 50/50 or does everything come from the same pot?....I do all the financial stuff in my family and everything is together...my sister says this is becoming a thing of the past....so Im curious....

we have one account both pays go in there. Nothing is his and mine. It is all 'ours".so all bills etc get paid from the pot per say. I just find the other way doesn't always work out well.

I take care of paying the bills. We do not have a set budget anymore. We found it a bit exhausting in maintaining it. But we are good at saving money.
I think a better question would be is do you have seperate accounts?
We talked about this before we were married and decided against it. One account. Everything goes in and comes out of there. Easy to track.

We dont have separate accounts...we do have several join accounts.....it is "our" money and we each buy what we want but consult on big purchases. We work with a budget..although not as good as we'd like...

We have seperate as with student loans we just found it easier. We just feel that as long as the bills are paid whatever is left is the "family" money.

That is what we do seperate accounts only becasue of child support when it was paid and child tax credit ect..But we are looking at joint but just have not ever done anything cause we never think about it when we are at the bank Suppose it will be brought up again with this thread..
