We were together for 4 years before I proposed. I was heading over to her house, when she was still living at home, to watch a movie I rented. I had also bought flowers. I put the ring in one of the roses and left it in the car along with the movie. I played dumb (no jokes about that please) and asked her to go grab the movie from the car. She came back with the movie and the flowers with a big grin on her face as she had sniffed the flowers and then saw the ring. I took it out and went down on one knee an asked her to marry me.
We marrie two years later. Would have been one but due to financial reasons we had to delay it by one year.

Very nice Droc!
My hubby and I are highschool sweethearts. we've been together 16 years married for 8. He proposed to me at Lakeridge. He asked me to take that night off work as he was coming home for the weekend. I ended up doing a family a favour and covering for a couple of hours and dragged him with me to a house with three young kids all of them with Autism or ADHD. He was very quiet, I thought he was coming home to dump me LOL! it turned out he was nervous as anything.

Kevin and I met on July 12 2000 on ICQ here on the big ole internet..we met inperson the first week of November,, we knew as soon as we saw one another he was stuck with me..lol. My dad drove down here to Halifax the following May to meet him and check him out on his turf..they hit it off and hence the approval from the big guy was final. Kevin proposed the following year on our trip here to Halifax. His sister Dolly found a set of antique wedding band and engagement ring and he proposed to me at his sisters place. It was so sweet, my daughter knew about the all of it and even went ring shopping with kevin and did not tell me. We then married on July 12 2003 here in Halifax, family friends all celebrated with us and it was amazing our honeymoon was at Peggys Cove Bed & Breakfast. My only regret was more of my family could not be there due to financial reasons. My grandmother who just passed was unable to be there and I think that is my biggest regret.

B&B at Peggys Cove.....That sounds so nice. I plan on taking Kelly and Jadzia back home next year if our other plan of going to Disney World falls through.

Beautiful stories, thanks for sharing everyone! I was proposed to by my kids dad, that lasted a few months and we split after nearly 10 years. I am really looked forward to being engaged and getting married
