Jadzia has never been difficult on any trips lucky for us. She would sit quietly looking out the window or she would talk to us or she would end up falling asleep (this 99.9% always happens). For some trips we do use the portable dvd.

DVD player for sure. For long trips we make stops and I bring bubbles, we play tag for a bit to stretch our legs. Jordyn is 5 now and we have bought a book with really easy word searches. We make up funny songs and we do story starters.

my guys are great in the car, so eally nothing needed if we are in the car..maybe some music. but when we took the train and thats was a good 18 hours or longer..i pack a bag of thing for the boys..toys, travel games, colouring books, reading books, magna doodle, and the leapfrog book, and snacks....they are really good travelling. but next time i think i will invest in the portable dvd player or gameboy or something...
