I have been watching ACA (A Current Affair) for ages, and have seen countless of stories about this.
Target (a few months back) released a padded bra for 6 year olds. Under the Bratz label, it was a B-cup average for a 6 year old.
When I have been shopping with Georgia, I have just seen skantily created outfits for girls as young as 3 with low cut tops, very short micro mini skirts, bras, you name it. Even see-through fishnet tops for beach wear.
I am very angry and dissapointed at this. They are making our kids look like adults by dressing them in adult clothes. and that should not be around! With the way the world is, that is just asking for men. It is just sickening.

I agree, the girls are being "made" to dress older than their years and it drives us nuts..Age Appropriate clothes please! They can be fun and funky without making them look like tiny prositutes.. We shop at La Senza Girl and Nothern Getaway most times . Or even Old Navy or Gap..
But comeon what to 10 year old needs a padded bra

Ok, just to play devils advocate... and understand that I have a daughter, so this is more to make you think, than actually what I beleave. It's more a comment on how mixed up our society is.. so here goes...
First off, why should children dress like children? Seriously? I mean, it's great having all those cute fun Dora clothes etc because they enjoy it. But why do they HAVE to dress like a kid? I don't really agree with swear words or nude pictures on clothes, but I don't care if you are child or adult. Those clothes are just rude.
But as far as wearing "revealing" clothing enticing clothing... they are still innocent kids. They don't see it as "sexy". They see it as being adult. WE see it as sexy, and we as adults are uncomfortable because we automatically have sex and children in the same thought. We as adults often forget that children are actually little human beings and reproduction is a NATURAL urge. As mature adults we control those urges, and fear the ones that dont.
Thing is... it doesn't matter what a child wears, the wacko's are still going to follow their urges. I'll also bet that despite what you think about the clothing, the child's bathing suit is way more revealing. And that gets seen in public often.
To add fuel to this arguement.. Do you think that by restricting our childs clothing choices we are restricting their creativity and personal expression? I listened to a very good radio show recently and the doctor said that today's youth have no way of proving they are adults. They have no real rights of passage. With a lack of structure, kids have naturally set to emulate adults by doing what adults do... drink, party, sex.... as told to them by modern media.
Think about it. The more important something is to a society, the more names there are for that item. Slang and nicknames count. How many names can you think of for chairs? Tables? Doors? Now, how about the TV? Alcohol? Drugs? Party?
Pretty scarey eh? So, by trying to force kids to be kids... are we actually hurting them?

I disagree with one thing you said. Kids at a very young age learn what they think sexy is. There are cartoons that have characters dressing sexy (I think Bratz is one of them. We do not allow our daugther to watch this stuff at this time). There are commercials, movies, etc....They try to mimic what/who they see and preceive it as being sexy. yes they are innocent but they do have an idea what it means to be sexy.

I think it comes back to that age old quote:
"If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands"
I like the "clothing" rules at my childrens school. No ripped clothes, no gang colours, no skirts shorter than two fingers above the knee, no shirt sleeves thinner than three finger width, etc. ... it has stopped A LOT of other problems that I have read on other posts.
It does not stop the children from wearing what ever they like at other times, just NOT at school.

well I will put my 2 cents in here............and comment on what Sabre said. I agree to an extent that some kids are not going to be looking at those clothes as if they are sexy, but rather because they are in style and everyone else is wearing them..........but.... and you knew there was a but.................it is those perverts out there who prey on kids that this kind of dressing will attract.

It is funny Cass seems to be dressing down since she started developing.. wearing the jackets, sweaters .. over the tanks she loves to wear.. I am thinking she has suddenly noticed that others are noticing her body changes.. which in truth makes me glad that she feels she needs to protect that part of her..
