As most of you know, I'm a single Mom of 2 girls... Nina and Aaliyah. Their father left last Dec. and went back to his ex-wife in Maryland. He goes to school fulltime at ITT Tech. He hasn't paid a single dime since he left. I started back to work 2 weeks ago (12th) after being on Maternity leave. I have a sitter for the girls but I don't have a vehicle. I have my G1 or whatever it is. It's not the full license. I can't for the life of me find a ride in the mornings to drop my girls off at the sitters then off to work. I posted a note on the board at work and asked practically everyone I know in Guelph for help. I even asked social services to see if they knew of somewhere where I can get help as far as transportation is concerned... and of course they said no. I had a ride for the last 2 weeks, but my neighbour (the person that was driving us) has to have surgery on the 30th.
Now with us having to take a bus we have to be at the bus stop by 5:45am. Meaning that we have to get up around 4am. I have to have the sitter be at the bus-stop by 6:20ish and basically have to push the girls off of the bus and stay on in order to get to work by 7am. By the time we get home after work it's 6pm. And the sad thing is, is that I work till 3:15. I honestly don't know how I'm going to do this. Anyone have any suggestions/ideas? TIA.

WOW.. I know what it is like not to drive with kids and be the only parent.. When it was just dd and I .. I depended on the transit or we biked or walked.. it sucked large but when we dont have any other options we do what we have to..
All I can say is good luck and know u are doing everything YOU can for your girls..be strong ..
How long have u had your G1 for? Are u able to do the testing anytime soon? Then u can start looking for a car for yourselves.. Maybe start looking now since the dealers are scrambling to make a sale..good luck..

Oh honey, that must be so tough for you. I was alone for 3 years with my little ones (21 months apart) and it was hard. I didn't have to get sitters and work etc, so I can only imagine what you're going through.
Is there any way to get work closer to you? Or a sitter closer or something?
