Purchased one after christmas and absolutely love it. Yes, I'm a man raving about the greatness of a cleaning item!
I have never seen any vac produce the same level of suction that this thing has. Never needs filters or bags.
I have allergies, dust, animal dander etc, so vaccuuming was not a pleasant experience for me. This thing actually makes the air smell CLEANER while you vac. They claim that the air coming out is 150% cleaner than the air you normally breath and I beleave it!
I realise that they are quite expensive, but they are worth every penny. Honestly, I'm so happy with it, I would likely be willing to pay double the asking price.

If you are thinking about getting one, watch for the Linen's N Things flyer. It has a 20% off coupon. The coupon specifically states that it does not to apply to vaccuums, but the Ajax store is honoring it. We were unable to find the Dyson on sale anywhere, so this is a good deal.

Yeah I have seen those Dyson vacuums too, and love them, and you are right they are expensive, but nice to hear of someone who has one and highly recommends it, thanks sabre.

oh, and spend the extra money and get the DC14 over the DC07(base model). The vac works exactly the same, but the design and ease of use is MUCH better. Make sure when you go looking to get the salesperson to explain how the vac works. Once you see how to extend the cleaning arm and clean the vac, you will understand why.
Also, there is absolutely no difference between the pet vac(purple) and the standard vac (yellow). The only difference is colour, attachments, and price. It's not worth buying all the extra attachments, because you will likely never use them. Should you need one specific attachment, you can order it and it will fit on your standard vac.
