Terri Irwin, Steve Irwin’s widow, has written a book about her life with her late husband.
It’s been more than a year since the “Crocodile Hunter” passed away, after a fatal strike by a stingray’s barb in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef last September.
But the American wife of the Aussie legend still suffers the loss of her partner every day. She says she wants others to know the Steve she loved, and not just the public persona of the man from TV.
“I felt kind of compelled to do something so that people could sit down and understand Steve better and where he came from and what we stood for and what we tried to achieve,” Irwin told press.
“I’d been so kind of self-absorbed with my own sadness that I hadn’t really thought about everybody else ... so I thought maybe a book would help people to come to know the human side of Steve.”
Steve Irwin gained international attention with his TV series The Crocodile Hunter, which premiered in 1996 with the first croc-catching episode shot during his and Terri’s honeymoon.
The series became successful worldwide and led to other wildlife specials and numerous appearances on shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
The Irwins’ daughter Bindi, 9, has her own burgeoning TV career, having presented a 26-part wildlife documentary for Discovery Kids called Bindi the Jungle Girl, and has her own fitness DVD and clothing label.
Terri Irwin’s book is titled Steve and Me: Life With the Crocodile Hunter.

I was very saddened when I heard about Steve's Death.. He had done so much good for the wildlife of this world and the environment. This is a book I would possible buy or better yet get from the Library since it is environmentally correct

With Stev being AUstralian, you can imagine how much we mourned. It had to happen eventually though, leading the lifestyle he did, and he knew that.
I feel so bad for his children.
